Continuing Professional Development

As I like to ensure that my skills are up-to-date in order that I can offer you a service of the highest quality, I am constantly engaging with CPD as follows:

  • I belong to a “Revision Club” with fellow French to English translators, Becca George and Caitlin Job, to ensure that I am producing translations of a high standard;
  • I periodically engage with a mentor from time to time to ensure that my skills are on the right track. Past examples include: The ITI’s FrenchNet Mentoring Scheme and the ITIWRG’s New Entrants Group, led by “ITI 2021 Mentor of the Year”, Lynn Urch;
  • I have exceeded the 30 hours per year of CPD as recommended by the ITI for 4 years running;
  • As a qualified member of the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply, I have access to research material in my specialism and also keep up to date with new concepts within the supply chain;
  • I contribute to the translation profession as membership secretary of the WRGITI;
  • I maintain my French language skills by being an active member of the Bristol French Circle as well as reading literature in French and taking the opportunity to listen to French broadcasts when possible;
  • I am constantly building up termbases in my specialist areas
